Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information for the prevention, detection, investigation or prosecution of crimes are:

Following a successful advertising campaign, Gwernymynydd Village Centre is becoming increasingly popular as a venue for meetings, parties and other events. Although located on a main road, much of the building is hidden from public view and the combination of greater public awareness and the recent addition of valuable IT and media equipment has raised concerns over the Centre’s vulnerability to break-ins.

To deter criminals and to help in the investigation of any incidents, we have

• installed CCTV. Users of the Centre are informed that CCTV is in use; video footage will be kept for a period of two weeks and will only be viewed when necessary, thus ensuring that users’ personal information is accessible – and accessed – in such a way as to have a minimal impact on their privacy. We believe that this approach will be effective in deterring crime and is proportionate to achieving that aim.
